Now that Windows 7 is officially released customer have been asking whether they can have systems using the new operating system. Although we have been using Windows 7 ourselves for some time we would not want to use it for systems until it is offically supported by the manufacturers of the various software and hardware.
Adobe have said that both CS3 and CS4 will work fine on Windows 7. They have a list of known problems and fixes on their website which you can look at here:

At present the manufacturers of the hardware we use with Adobe software, Matrox and Black Magic, have not produced Windows 7 drivers. There are ways where you can use the hardware using existing drivers even though they are not properly produced for Windows 7 but we would not want to supply systems using these unless you really want Windows 7 and not Windows Vista. We hope to have drivers for these cards in the coming months and will post here as soon as we have drivers and they are tested.
What do we think of Windows 7 here at DVC?
We love it. We have also come to love using Windows Vista (particularly the 64 bit version) to be honest and Windows 7 is like Vista but with a few enhancements. Vista has a bad repuation which it gained when it first came out but after a couple of service packs and updates it became a reply operating system and better than XP in our opinion. Windows 7 is the same and a bit better and we will use it as soon as we can do so reliably. In the meantime though we wil carry on using Windows Vista 64 because it works well!
