Grass Valley have announced the next update to Edius. 5.1 is due after NAB, the big video show held every year in April in Las Vegas. The update will include quite a few important changes but the one that really catches the attention is Blu-ray writing directly off the Edius timeline (although an audio normalise tool is also something that would be very useful). For details of how this will work we will have to wait for the patch to be officially available. The update will be free to anyone with Edius 5 and we expect it sometime in May.
