10.00 Start - come in and get a cup of tea.
10.30 Adobe Premiere Pro CS5
11.30 AVCHD cameras and editing
12.30 Grass Valley EDIUS 5.5
1.30 Avid Media Composer for Liquid Users
2.30 Blu-ray and Adobe Encore (depending on when people arrive we may decide to change this to a second Adobe Premiere CS5 demo, for those who miss the 10.30 demonstration).
We aim to keep to this schedule as much as possible but this will depend on the response from people attending the Open Day. The main objective is to make sure you get as much out of the day as possible. The schedule was based on the responses to registration form. We will include various topics, such as laptop editing, in these talks.
We will have DVC editing computers on show, including our laptops and desktops, with the Matrox MX02, Grass Valley hardware and Avid Media Composer. We will have the new versions of Adobe Premiere Pro and Grass Valley EDIUS on show, although we will not have Avid Media Composer 5 to demonstrate. The AVID software is still a month away from release, so we cannot show the new version at the moment. We will be doing our Avid demonstrations using Media Composer 4, and will highlight some of the differences in version 5. For those of you considering whether to upgrade from Avid Liquid to Media Composer, we will easily be able to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of moving to MC - and of course you need to see this now as the deadline for upgrade is 30th June.
The talks will be presented by DVC Managing Director David Clarke and Richard Payne from Holdan UK, distributors of Grass Valley EDIUS, Black Magic products and Panasonic professional AVCHD cameras. Other members of DVC will be available, if you happen to miss a talk on a subject.
Finding the new DVC offices in Hove.
Our offices are in a road called Westbourne Grove, however, it looks less like a road and more like a driveway! Some customers have had trouble finding us so we have added so detailed instructions on finding us on our website: http://www.dvc.uk.com/acatalog/map.html. Westbourne Grove is at the top of Westbourne Gardens, at the junction with Portland Road. There is a post office on one side of the junction, with a fruit shop on the other. Westbourne Grove is at the end of the fist block of houses on the same side as the fruit shop.Parking
The area around our office is restricted or permit-holder only parking. On-street parking is not too expensive and tickets can be bought from the machines on the road side. The nearest free parking is about 15 minutes walk away in Portslade. The nearest train station is Aldrington which is only a couple of minutes away. Aldrington is between Hove and Portslade stations, which are both on the main line from London Victoria to Littlehampton. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. If you have any questions in advance of the open day please call or email.
