Re: Re: Grass Valley release v3.1 of the AVCHD
by David Clarke
We already have the Booster Pack in Neo and knew the same thing would be coming around NAB time for full EDIUS, with Windows 7 support but I had not seen an official press release about it. Both Windows 7 and the Booster pack are really welcome additions to EDIUS. Using the booster pack with EDIUS NEO we had 8 layers of AVCHD flying around using a 3Ghz i7 processor (the latest kind). It even works well on older Quad core processors. This easily makes EDIUS this best program for editing AVCHD. Premiere Pro has always been pretty good at editing native footage but not as good as EDIUS with Booster Pack. Of course they have their own new version coming soon, with a new thing called the "Mercury playback engine" which should also edit AVCHD better than the current version. No official news on when this will arrive.
